They played in both the Individual and Team event in Islamabad, Pakistan in mid-August for 3 weeks. After 3 days of acclimatisation they began over 2 weeks of competitive squash. Brian won two matches in the Individual event and two in the team event. This was an achievement when one considers that this is squash at its highest U19 level!

Brian, pictured here, is the current U19 Carma Munster Junior Closed Champion and carries on a long tradition of Highfield players, all coached by Martin O'Donoghue in their earlier years, who have made it to the Under 19 Irish 'World's Team'. Others include Conor O'Donoghue, Eleanor Lapthorne and Ciara Healy.

This season he was also part of the Munster 'B' team that won at the Senior Interprovincials.

This season the players on the team had to raise most of the finance themselves so a number of fund-raising events were organised. The Table Quiz in Highfield raised a surplus of €840. Well done to Alec Myles, Tony Weir and Mick Magee who scores an almost flawless 132 out of 140. Others might not have scored such high marks but they certainly enjoyed the night. By the way, Al Lysaght said that the Beatles never had a number 1 with Something and others suggested that Jonathon Power looked more like his sister!

As Brian lives in Ballincollig, firms there were canvassed for support. Many thanks to the following who helped with contributions (not all of whom are from Ballincollig!):
