John Hurley won his 5th. successive Munster Senior title in Gleneagle beating Phil Cullinane by 3 games to 1. Hurley won the first 9/3 on a controversial stroke decision but Cullinane hit back immediately by winning the second game 9/4 with some stunning squash shots. The difference between the players in this final was the Silverspring man's great retrieving of seemingly ungettable balls and Cullinane's hitting the tin too often. Hurley won the third and fourth games 9/3, 9/4 but admitted afterwards that it took all his reserves of energy to keep his title.

Eleanor Lapthorne proved much too strong for the opposition over the weekend and beat Clare Jones 9/2;9/7;9/4 in the Ladies A final.
