Munster Squash

Irish Junior Nationals:
Well done to all the Munster players who entered this competition and special mention of Philip McSweeney, Ornagh Murray and Gary Power whose parents are from Cork and Waterford! Full results on the Irish Squash website.

Munster Junior (Closed) Championship 2010:
This competition, used to select Juniors for the Munster Teams for the Junior Interprovincials, was run-off in Dunhill again this season over the weekend of January 29-31 and the finishing positions are available on the competition page.

Leinster Junior Open:
Well done to Philip McSweeney who won the BU13, to Labhaoise Dunbar and Tomás Dunbar who were runners-up in the GU15 and BU19 finals respectively and to Rachel Power who was runner-up in the GU17.

Munster Schools Competition:
If your school would like to compete in the All-Ireland Schools competition check out the qualifying Munster School Competition.

IACT Irish Junior Open:
Well done to the players who travelled to this competition held in Salthill again this season. Special mention of Highfield's Philip McSweeney who won the U13 competition beating Stephen Quigley (Connacht) 3-2 in a very close semi-final and Kyle Finch from England in the final.

The EMC² Munster Junior (Open) Championships 2009:
This competition was held in Cork recently and there were many Munster prize-winners. Congratulations to all who entered and special 'Well Done!' to Philip McSweeney from Highfield who took the BU13 title and to our adopted Munster man, Gary Power who was the winner in the BU19 event. Junior Coaching:
Currently, the clubs with a junior programme in operation in Munster include Dunhill, Highfield, Killarney and Thurles. If your club also has an active junior section please let us know.

One-Day-Events:
Maybe your club would consider running a one-day-event on a Saturday or Sunday during the season. These can be great craic and you can play three matches and still be home in time for tea! Let Munster Squash know about it and we'll be happy to supply the Pizzas!
