This competition was played in Highfield and Sunday's Well and we are very grateful to both clubs for their continued support of our tournaments. We are also obliged to Tournament Directors Ken O'Keeffee and Mark Smyth for their efficiency in running yet another very enjoyable event!

The 2011 Munster Squash Senior (Closed) Championship took place in Cork from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th of February at Highfield and Sunday's Well Squash Clubs. It didn't disappoint......

This year's theme to the Men's A section at Sundays Well was "Heeeeere's Johnny", as former Munster Champion Johnny Hurley (Silversprings) made a welcome return to Munster Squash. Stiff resistance was provided by Limerick's Donal Carroll and Dermot MacNamara, however it was destiny that Johnny met reigning Munster Champion Kevin Knox (Celtic) in Sunday afternoon's final at the Well.

Hurley took the first two sets comfortably, but Knox put the ghost of finals past behind him and settled into the third set, pulling away decisively after a break in play due to a ball change. The scene was now set for a grand finale, with Hurley needing to "up it" again to take out the champ (at 2 - 1). Read on . . . . . . . . .
