Munster Squash was very sad to hear the news that Noel Walsh passed away peacefully last night (10-03-2026), Noel was surrounded by his family and friends. Noel was a member of Freshford SC Squash club and worked tirelessly for this club and his community in the Freshford area. Noel was a great supporter of Squash in Munster, competing in many Munster Opens and Closed Tournaments over the years, and was always a fair but fiercely competitive player, a true gentleman on and off the court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noel was a member of Thurles SC and captained their Division 2 team to success a few years back. Noel was also a member of Celtic SC, where his son Nathan is a member of the Celtic Junior Academy. Noel was a family man first and foremost; he was so proud of his 3 children, Serena, Jamie, and Nathan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From a Squash point, Noel saw Nathan make a massive step forward this season when Nathan reached the BU17 final of the Nationals in Cork; it was a proud Dad moment for Noel. Condolences to Catherine at this very sad time and also to Serena, Jamie, and Nathan, along with the extended Walsh family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
