<\/p>\n\n\n\nWe had a weekend of squash where we saw passion, emotions, athleticism, and everything else, including players running on fumes <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the A men’s final, we were treated to a super match between Aaron Knox from Celtic Squash Club<\/a> and Karl McLoughney from Thurles Squash-Club<\/a> – speed and reactions were full on, the fitness these players showed during 4 games was immense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was the Celtic player who came out on Top to match the title his own father won many years ago. He has a way to go to catch his uncle, Kevin Knox, with 7 titles, but given the fact that Aaron is playing U19 squash right now, that may be possible. Congratulations, Aaron, on your first MSC title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Other matches that were notable were between Keith Cronan, Gleneagle Squash Club<\/a>, and Brian Walsh, Celtic Squash Club, playing for 5\/8 in the C Section, where it went down to the wire with the Gleneagle man edging it with a 12-10 win in the 5th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the B section, we had a father and some final with Colm and Jamie Morrissey sharing the court – a 3-0 win for Jamie sounds easy, but it was a tough match with a never give up attitude from both players, well done lads. Eoin Tynan from Thurles SC and Killenaule Squash Club<\/a> won the C section with a tough win against Celtic player Liam Kelly that could have gone either way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Daisy Morrissey won the women’s B section against an all-Celtic player group – Daisy had to do it the hard way and was up against it with Caoimhe English, winning in 5 games 11-8 in the 5th<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the D section, Tom Cullen from Dunhill Squash Club<\/a> had a great win 3-1 against Chris Moran from HighfieldSquash Cork<\/a> – a 3-1 win for Tom, but a great display of will to get to every ball on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thanks to Lee Healy and all the refs for helping out over the weekend. Thanks to Eugene Walker for running the show, looking after the schedule, and the draws.
